Interview: HPQ CEO on GEN2 Silicon Anode Material Outperforming Graphite and GEN1 Batteries After 150 Cycles

In an AGORACOM interview, CEO Bernard Tourillon provided detailed insights on recently announced advancements from its France-based affiliate, NOVACIUM SAS (“Novacium”).

The announcement relates to the latest tests that have demonstrated significant milestones in battery performance using Novacium’s second-generation advanced silicon-based anode material. Testing over 150 cycles of 18650 industrial batteries showcases the superior capacity retention of Novacium’s GEN2 materials. The average capacity of batteries using GEN2 materials started at approximately 3,337.4 mAh and only decreased to 3,256.6 mAh by the 150th cycle.

“These promising results underscore the potential of our silicon-based anode materials to revolutionize battery technology,” emphasized Bernard Tourillon, President and CEO of HPQ Silicon Inc. and NOVACIUM SAS, on the real-world implications.

This is a significant improvement compared to both GEN1 materials and 100% graphite benchmarks.
