The PUREVAP™ is a one-step proprietary process that uses a plasma arc within a vacuum furnace to transform quartz into high-purity silicon. Through the PUREVAP, HPQ will supply silicon to a range of diverse manufacturing applications critical to reaching net-zero emissions.
The PUREVAP™ process reduces quartz with carbon using a plasma-submerged arc. Under vacuum — and at very low operating pressure — impurities are removed from the silicon until its left in its purest form.
With a patented, scalable, and ESG-compliant high-purity silicon metal production process, HPQ is positioned to grow as needed to fulfil the rising demand for silicon metal. The company’s strategic location in Montreal, North America, is yet another advantage, as HPQ benefits from close proximity to end-users, decreasing transportation costs and eliminating international supply chain disruptions.
